A 55-year-old Japanese university teacher stripped naked on campus in a bid to prove his love for a 21-year-old student, the school said Tuesday, only for his young amour to make off with his clothes.

The older man, who taught computer sciences at Tokyo’s Taisho University, was left in the buff after de-robing in public at his live-in lover’s request.
The teacher, who was not named, told officials his girlfriend had ordered him to “take off your clothes right there if you want me to trust you”.

But after stripping to demonstrate his dependability, his beau — who was said to be “emotionally unstable” at times — picked up his clothes and ran off. “I apologise that what I did, which I did to protect my loved one, resulted in such a situation,” the chastened lecturer later told his students.

“The instructor acted to assuage the woman’s insecure feelings but admitted it was an extremely careless thing to do. He expressed his intention to resign,” the school said in a statement.

The student was later located and the teacher’s clothes were returned to him, local media reported, adding that the pair then went home together.

A Ghanaian boy, Henry Alibah obviously angry that his ex-girlfriend broke up with him decided to pay her back in a wicked way.
The 24-year-old student who decided to revenge because his girlfriend ended their two-years relationship posted na ked pictures of his ex-girlfriend and tagged them as “Porn star, pay and f***”. Like that wasn’t bad enough he also added her mobile number for everyone to see.

Alibah who had been charged on January 22 for causing emotional or psychological abuse pleaded guilty revealing his reason for his action saying his ex-girlfriend had threatened to reveal all secret things he had told her, adding his ex-girlfriend had accused him of going in for a prostitute after she had left him.

According to a circuit court in Accra, posting of nude pictures which it also referred to as a cyber bully had also been used by people as a form of black mail, noting that, in the case before it, the intent of the convict was to use revenge pornography as a form of black mail.
The court however found him guilty as he was jailed for six months.
What do you think of his punishment?

When I was 16 I got a girlfriend, but there was no passion, so I decided I needed a passionate girl with a zest for life.  In college I dated a passionate girl, but she was too emotional.

Everything was an emergency; she was a drama queen, cried all the time and threatened suicide. So I decided I needed a girl with stability.  When I was 25 I found a very stable girl but she was boring. She was totally predictable and never got excited about anything. Life became so dull that I decided that I needed a girl with some excitement.

When I was 28 I found an exciting girl, but I couldn’t keep up with her. She rushed from one thing to another, never settling on anything. She did mad impetuous things and made me miserable as often as happy. She was great fun initially and very energetic, but directionless.

So I decided to find a girl with some real ambition. When I turned 31, I found a smart ambitious girl with her feet planted firmly on the ground and married her. She was so ambitious that she divorced me and took everything I owned. •••this life big ooo, “there is no ‘PERFECT’ girl, just keep the one ya have and make her perfect!”

NO fewer than 366 students of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, have been expelled by the management of the institution for poor academic performance.

The RSUST Vice Chancellor, Prof. Barineme Fakae, who made this announcement on Wednesday at the 33rd matriculation of the university, explained that the affected students could not meet the minimum academic standard required by the institution.

He said the expelled students could not make the Cumulative Grade Point Average 1.00 and were withdrawn from the university at the end of the 2013/2014 session.

Fakae also disclosed that for the 2013/2014 academic session, eight best performing students of the university from seven different faculties were rewarded with one laptop computer each, saying the reward was aimed at encouraging healthy competition in academics among students.

He said the institution would reward best performing students of the university every year and that 12,904 applicants, who scored above the University Tertiary Matriculation Examination cut-off mark of 180 per cent, applied to study in RSUST.

The VC said only 3, 322 (25.74 percent) out of the number were admitted based on merit and the National Universities Commission’s approved carrying capacity.

Fakae said, “I have to reiterate that in RSUST today, you must be good to come in, good to stay in and good to graduate. It is sad to announce that 366 students out of a total population of 14,948 that registered last session, who could not make the mandatory Cumulative Grade Point Avergae (CGPA) of 1.00, were withdrawn from the university at the end of last session (2013/2014) due to academic failure.

“As you know, the commonly known academic vice called ‘sorting’ no longer has a home in Rivers State University of Science and Technology due to our strict adherence to the academic rules and our electronic process.”
General Buhari
Putting an end to the raging controversy of APC Presidential aspirant Mohammadu Buhari’s secondary school certificate, the school which the respected General attended has now released his statement of result.
The statement was released by Government College, formerly Provincial Secondary School, Katsina, which Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress graduated from in 1961.
The results, obtained exclusively by Premium Times on Wednesday, 21st January 2015, confirm Mr. Buhari’s claim that he undertook the University of Cambridge West African School Certificate Examinations and obtained five credits in English Language, Geography, Hausa Language, History, and Health Science.
The computer printout from Cambridge University as well as a statement of result, signed by the current principal of Katsina College, dated January 21, 2015 has also been  released by Premium Times.

The statement of results is printed on the letter head paper of the Katsina State Ministry of Education, and it shows that the examination took place in 1961.The Cambridge print out also shows the result of 17 other candidates at the centre, including Shehu Yar’adua, a former Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters.
Controversy over Mr. Buhari’s result escalated Tuesday after the Nigerian Army, which had earlier admitted to having a copies of his certificate, reversed itself saying it could not even attest to the details listed in his records.

The spokesperson of the Army, Olajide Laleye, said

“Neither the original copy, certified true copy (CTC) nor statement of result of Major-.Gen. Mohammadu Buhari‘s WASC result is in his personal file.”
He said while it is the practice in the Nigerian Army that before candidates are shortlisted for commissioning into the officers’ cadre of the service, the selection board verifies the original copies of credentials as presented, “There is no available record to show that this process was followed in the 1960s.”
The military’s comments came after the retired general had said that his lost copies of results were with the Army, an explanation he gave ahead of elections February 14.

Many Nigerian students these days often move quickly to queue for private universities when
making a choice of institution.
I agree that private universities have advantages like the absence of strike, easy access to
lecturers… Well, that’s about all.
Public universities, federal and state, have a lot of advantages, from cheaper school fees, to the
freedom to be an adult. Public universities expose you to the real world, introduces you to the
hustle of life unlike private universities that consist of a lot of brats who are literally spoon-fed.
They are so pampered, making difficult to face the real world when they become graduates.
So here’s my case for choosing a public university.
1. Public universities allow for freedom and independence:
Students in public universities enjoy the freedom to make decisions for themselves and learn to
be almost independent. Private universities keep students within the four walls of their campuses
and under certain rules more suited for teenagers than young adults. The laws in public
universities are not imposed on the students; they are just the basic principles a normal student
is meant to follow. It’s funny when I see pictures of private university students being punished or
hear of certain rules like compulsory attendance of chapel, feeding time tables, dress codes,
e.t.c. It is absurd; these are adults!
2. Cost of education:
It is a lot cheaper to attend public university than a private one and this is not limited to school
fees. Cost of living on public universities is also cheaper. Students cook their own meals and have
access to shops on campus and in town where prices of goods and services are competitive.
On the other hand, the cost of living on a private university secluded campus for one semester is
enough to build a house.
3. Public university gives “exposure” to students:
It’s more than obvious that public university students are ”sharper” than private university
students. Private university students who are often referred to as “JJC” or “Learners” by public
university students, live what I term “the microwave life” which is the easy life.

In federal universities you get to meet all sorts: from cultists to Aristo chicks, people with different personalities. It makes one exposed to what life really is. One is exposed to the hustle and learns how to struggle for things. There are still brats in federal universities but most of them get to grow up when exposed to the hustle.

4. Life on and off campus is FUN:
There are so many parties to attend, clubs and events. One gets to meet real people, one also
learns to be real. There is a lot of gist and gossip, lot of things to laugh at. Rather than chapel,
it’s clubbing. Dating is even fun in federal schools. Couples express love without fear as adults.
One gets to see students that are rich and poor mingling as equals; students who express
themselves through their dressing and not relegated to some uniform.
5. Hard work is compulsory
Students in public universities have worked through exceptional odds to succeed; challenges that
help one not take life for granted. Imagine a department of over a thousand students with a very
small lecture hall or a lecturer who spends only twenty minutes in a class where he is meant to
spend two hours, or one who only gives handouts. Faced with issues like these, students work
extra hard to come out with well-deserved results.
6. Public universities produce more mature graduates:
With all the challenges: strikes, nonchalant lecturers, freedom to express yourself as adult etc,
public universities are more equipped for life after graduation. They know that things would not
just be handed to them and are used to making decisions for themselves.

what is the world turning into? can you think of this in school?

What should be their punishment? honestly this is terrible

What you guys think?

http://lindaikejist.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Police-Arrest-DELSU-Student-for-Staging-Her-Own-Kidnap-And-Extorting-N500k-from-Parents2.jpg
DELTA State Police Command has arrested one Belynda Chinwe Bosa, a student of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka for staging her kidnap so as to extort money from her parents.

It was said that one Beatrice Bosa of Kwale, Delta State reported that last December her daughter, Chinwe, residing at Lagos, who was travelling from Lagos to Abraka in Delta State was kidnapped along the way by unknown hoodlums.

She claimed her abductors were demanding a ransom of N500, 000.00 but was surprised that her boyfriend and his brother demanded N10 million from her parents.

The boyfriend, who was also arrested, confessed to the crime, lamenting that he came from overseas and that both of them wanted to use the money to settle down inform if renting a flat, equip it and use part of the money to start a business in Nigeria.

Sequel to the report, operatives of Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad, Asaba, swung into action and arrested one America Sunday Ogagawotu at Oyiobo, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, after withdrawing the ransom money which was paid into his Ecobank account in Port-Harcourt.

Commissioner of Police, Delta State, Alkali Baba Usman, when contacted over the incident revealed that the victim, on leaving Lagos went to her boyfriend, one George Itietie at Port-Harcourt where herself, the said Itietie and America Sunday Ogagawatu planned to inform her parents that she was kidnapped so as to extort money from her parents.

He further disclosed that the victim got N100, 000.00 as her own share from the ransom of N500, 000.00 paid by her parents just as he claimed the trio of Ogagawatu, Itietie and Chinwe have confessed to the crime and are helping the police in investigation.

Similarly, one Alfred Ibinagator has been arrested by detectives at Ogbe-Ijoh Division in connection with a case of stealing a speed boat.

Parading him, Celestina Kalu, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta Command, disclosed that when search warrant was executed in his house, 228 rounds of Lar rifle live ammunition, five rounds of K2 rifle live ammunition and two pairs of army uniforms were recovered.

She said the suspect is undergoing investigation at SARS office, Asaba and would be arraigned in court soonest.
These are some of the 14 Universities built by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, with their structures in no particular order
1] Federal University, Lafia, Nasarawa State. —North Central.
2] Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State. ——-North Central.
3] Federal University, Kashere, Gombe State.– North East.
4] Federal University, Wakari, Taraba State. —-North East.
5] Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State.-North West.
6] Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State.——-North West.
7] Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State. —South South.
8] Federal University, Ndufe-Alike, Ebonyi State.-South East.
9] Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State.——-South West.
President Goodluck Jonathan also on Thursday advised Nigeria’s National Economic Council (NEC) to approve the upgrade of six Federal universities to Mega tertiary institutions with absorptive capacity of 150,000 students to 200,000 students each. The affected Universities are yet to be named by the Presidency.A friend came back from France, after studying for his masters degree and was absorbed by Federal University, Ndufe-Alike, Ebonyi State (FUNAI). He had an interview with the VC, Prof Ayo Ibidapo Obe directly and the VC was impressed and so he was directed to go through the recruitment processes of the school. He was absorbed and subsequently listed to go back for his PhD, being sponsored by the school via TETFUND. It breaks my heart when lazy Nigerians run their mouth and insult President GEJ, claiming that some of his works don’t exist. The worst mistake Nigerians will make is to vote in Buhari in the forthcoming election. We will live to regret it. Jonathan did not only build these universities but appointed seasoned professors with administrative experiences and track records to man them. Prof Nebo was poached from Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State (FUOYE), while the like of Prof Ibidapo Obe still remain in the various ones. I don’t want to forget how first class graduates have been selected all over the country and sent on scholarships to various countries to study with a bond to come back to Nigeria and serve after studies. A kid brother just graduated after his doctorate programme in Newcastle University. Instead of wasting your life badmouthing GEJ on Nairaland, go back to your books now and take advantage of GEJ’s wonderful investment in education. A word is enough for the wise

BUHARI, here is your certificate – ofcourse after 12 years. That is 2 years for your FLSC refreshers, 6 years for secondary school and 4 years in Federal University Otuoke. No short cut. Thank God GEJ has built you universities, so avail yourself of the opportunities

These are certainly not the best of times for the Okorie family of Isiakpu village, Okposi Okwu in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. As other families revel in the New Year festivities, the Okories are dressed in the robe of despair and sorrow. Indeed, the family has been enveloped by a thick pall of grief following the untimely demise of their father and breadwinner.

The Okories are not only crying because their father is dead, but also the manner in which death came. It was learnt that the man who was in his late 60s and father of four allegedly died in the loins of his girlfriend, Nneoma (surname withheld), a Banking and Finance student of the Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Abakaliki.

Okorie, who owned a block-making factory, was allegedly lured to the ‘nest of death’ near the Presco campus of the university by the lover girl who allegedly acted in concert with another boyfriend of hers, whose first name was given as Alex. Investigation revealed that on the day Okorie died, he received a call from Nneoma, asking him to meet her in a five-storey hostel off Goddy Ogbaga Avenue in Abakaliki, the state capital. On getting there, it was learnt, they began to do those things that lovers do and her school boyfriend, Alex, appeared suddenly on the scene like a ghost. And the man died in the process.

Interestingly, the late Okorie, Nneoma and Alex hail from the same community.
A police source said: “What happened was that the man was lured by a girl he has been assisting as a family friend and/or lover to somewhere in Abakaliki. Thinking that all was well, he went to honour the call. Unknown to him, the girl’s boyfriend had already made some arrangements to either threaten or intimidate and extort money from him. But in the process, while in the so-called boyfriend’s room, he died.

The way some girls throw caution to the wind these days is just mind-boggling. It is bad enough that as a young girl you are messing around with a married man, another woman's husband, all because of money.

But why should you take your desperation to the crazy level of allowing yourself to be recorded live in the shameful act? Young ladies, stop rubbishing yourselves. See full clip:

The Lagos State Government has said that parents and guardians would pay N10,000 to register their wards for computer-based test for 2015/2016 admissions into junior secondary schools.
 http://punch.cdn.ng/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/School-children-in-Lagos-360x240.jpg
This was contained in a statement released by the Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye, announcing the commencement of the sale of application forms to pupils on Thursday.

She added that parents and guardians were expected to pay N10,000 to designated banks, after which candidates would be registered through a customised compact disc issued by the State Examination Board.

The commissioner pointed out that the registration of candidates could be done through a customised CD that would be issued to candidates after confirmation of payment at any branch of Fidelity Bank (account number 5030000739, Agency Code 4280011 and Revenue Code 40200045); Skye Bank (account number 1770602459, Agency Code 280011 and Revenue Code 40200045); and FCMB (account number 0135582205, Agency Code 4280011 and Revenue Code 40200045).

The sale of forms will close on April 3rd. Oladunjoye said these were the only yardsticks for admission into colleges/upgraded secondary schools in the state in 2015/2016 academic session.

http://blog.ngcareers.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/oby-ezekwesili.jpg
of recent...about a couple of days ago..I basically made a write up of the best top 10 courses and hot cake in nigeria as at today..

but I have finally, come up with another write up of the top 10 worst degrees with lowest potential for employment in nigeria as at today

certainly, there is no degree that guarantees one job in & by itself however given the current economic situation and the fast pace of economic and technological shift in the continent and nigeria in particular there are degrees you would be better off not investing your time and resources to acquire as opportunities affected in those areas are increasingly getting eroded...if however you have a degree in any of them and finding it tough to make career headway it's time to put on your thinking cap
1 General Arts;
this cover anything from art history to painting/sculpture in the western world and developed countries having a degree in the arts could fetch one decent job opportunities several years ago..after the depression however with many european economic still sttuggling to recover it's becoming increasingly tough to find opportunities for majors in such areas like archeology,painting/fine art, history et cetera.

the opportunities for these sort of degrees are shrinking and people with the academic credentials thinking to get themselves a job in related field would have to do a cot of innovative and pro active thinking.
career counsellors advise those who want to study such things as art, dance, and music to have a specific strategy...sometimes a way out could be getting a higher degree(such as masters).

2 Humanities and liberal Arts;
if you love sitting and thinking about the intricacies of life and expounding on theories of existence or analysing political theories and events there may not be enough opportunities to do that in real life with your philosophy or political science degree to earn good money..
Humanities and liberal Art degree courses like Anthropology, political science, philosophy and many more do not give the graduates who passes them specific in road into the employement market..unlike professional courses like engineering, and the business field having a degree in any of the humanities may not really point one to a specific career direction.

3 Education;
unless you are willing to take higher degrees and pursue teaching opportunities at higher levels of the education ladder having an education degree is hardly going to get you the best jobs.
the only ways a graduate degree holder in education will do better is either to go for higher qualification and try to break into higher level teaching or do a career switch entirely and go for higher qualification in a different field that has more career prospects.

4 Religious studies;
Given the way churches and self styled pastors are springing up in every nook and cranny it should appear that splurging money on a religious studies degree will present the holder with bright prospects...however nothing can be further from the truth..except you are willing to plunge in and open your own church down the street, becoming a quran clutching preacher et cetera...there are hardly any existing opportunities for you to explore if you have a religiouss studies degree and wish to exploit opportunities there in.

5 Mass communication;
In considering mass communication we had a struggle with choosing a few other courses ahead of mass communication but at the end the argument was too much against mass communication degree.

the increasing introduction of media technology is eating away at the former strongholds of mass communication graduates..reporters and journalist find the rug being gradually pulled of their feet as bloggers and writers who hitherto knew nothing about mass communication.

take over the business of news discovering and sharing newspaper and television are no longer holding the baton in exclusive control of the media business...for mass comm.majors who wish to find and pursue the right career day need to understand the change in mass media and communication tools and acquire the right skills.
